I didnt realise I had a faulty birde as I could use it through the app still. The birde team were great to figure this out and send out a replacement birde. It has been the best for my preschooler. She loves the story books.

I really do love this device and if I could I would rate it a 4.5. This is our second birde purchase, so both our kids have one each. I love that there are physical books that go with it instead of toys like their competitors. I would not have bought this if it did not have the books and feel like finding this company was a needle in the haystack. I remember actually learning to read and love stories through my audio tape audio books and it was such a beautiful time in childhood. As a teacher, and having a child who is an emergent reader, having the ability to connect the spoken word with the written text is essential. So many skills are being practised during each read session - concepts of print, some word recognition of high frequency words, understanding that words are representation of the spoken word, enjoying storytelling etc).
I had big issues with connecting my birde as we have 5G wifi. It's such a shame it doesn't just connect on any internet.

My Kindy kid absolutely loves our Birde. He is currently learning to read and being about to follow along with the audio is helping him recognise sounds and words. We also love that huge range of books available. There are more than enough so he doesnt get bored and it keeps him interested.
