    Storybook indepence!

    My 4 year old grandson has found independence with reading Birde books. The Magician's Apprentice is a sweet, but not scary story about a little boy who tries out magic and gets out of his depth (literally) very quickly. The story is dramatically read at a nice pace; not too fast. There is a beep after each page to signal the page turn. There is enough time for the child to turn the page, lift the flaps and look at the picture, while listening to the story and then be ready to turn the next page. This is a very satisfying quiet activity to do on his own while waiting for his dad to get ready in the morning.
